2016 NAEM EHS and Sustainability Management Forum

Stephen Bernard, Senior Sustainability Manager; AT&T Inc.

 

Stephen Bernard is a sustainability professional and environmental engineer with over twenty-five years of experience in telecommunications and aerospace. Currently, he is a Senior Supply Chain Sustainability Manager at AT&T, where he is responsible for developing, implementing and managing new policies and programs that build sustainable business practices into supply chain operations. As a Senior Manager, he contributes thought leadership and key communications on sustainable business practices throughout the Global Supply Chain team, across business partners and out to suppliers. He leads the QuEST Forum ICT industry sustainability initiative (www.questforum.org/sustainability), AT&T's work with CDP Supply Chain, and supplier engagement with the global sourcing team.

 

Previously at AT&T, Stephen negotiated national contracts for environmental, greenhouse gas emissions management, backup power and emergency services. He also worked within the environmental, health and safety programs at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and Lockheed Martin Astronautics, where he inspected Air National Guard bases nation-wide, managed environmental compliance programs at a major aerospace manufacturing plant, and prepared emergency response plans for major installations for Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Air Force.

 

Stephen holds a Master of Environmental Policy and Management from the University of Denver and an MBA in Managing for Sustainability from the University of Colorado Denver Business School.  He also holds a B.A. in Biological Sciences and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado.
