Hiroshi Ishizuka, Program Manager of Energy/Resource Management; Western Digital Corp.

Hiroshi Ishizuka is Program Manager of Energy/Resource Management for Western Digital. He previously developed and implemented management systems for global environmental data management and external reporting. Since 2014, he has led the company’s global program for promoting energy/resource efficiency. In this role, he has established a platform for engaging participants from all global operations in sharing knowledge and replicating best practices to further energy, water and waste conservation. He currently is focused on creating an overarching system aligning energy/resource management with the company’s integrated management system (IMS) certification approach.

 

Mr. Ishizuka joined the Hitachi data storage company in 2011, and he has continued with the company through its transition to Western Digital. His subject of special study is environmental economics analyzing the Kuznets Curve hypothesis that as an economy develops, market forces first increase and then decrease economic inequality. He also studied environmental sciences at the University of British Columbia as an exchange student.
